Cassava, manioca, manihot, yuca, tapioca—Manihot esculenta is a starchy tuberous vegetable native to South America. It's known by more than 26 different names worldwide. The root is used in an array of foods like flour, chips, bread, pastries and more. This plant is more popular than ever because besides tasting delicious, it has excellent nutritional value.

Local demand for this delicious crop is growing every day—from an excellent substitute for imported wheat flour to the waxed root, which is excellent in home cooking, to the peeled root that is popular with food processors. While cassava is well established as a food source, we believe it has another exciting application—as a high-grade ethanol fuel source. Its production costs are low, while its high conversion rates set it ahead of sugar cane, wheat, and even corn.

We produce for local and export markets, working to promote new varieties of the plant. We work with several international partners, including our membership with CLAYUCA, a division of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).

Our products include:

  • Ethanol
  • Flour
  • Peeled and Waxed Cassava

We are also exploring other production.
